What Happens When You Have a Bat, Ball and 100 Nudists On a Beach?
A. The annual ANZAC day nude cricket match.
The ANZAC annual cricket match at Belongil beach was our destination, this year and our chosen way of spending Anzac day. What better way to spend the day than by reminding ourselves we now have the freedom to enjoy one of Australia’s favorite pastimes a game of cricket. Our intentions were firmly in place. We would set up camp for the day and make the most of such a glorious day with other like minded people, say guiday to other naturists we have met along the tracks and cheer on, diplomatically of course, both the Aussies and Kiwis.
We had a giggle to ourselves as we trudged to the beach carrying all our gear. We were warned by a polite young man that we may need to cover our eyes at the sight that would behold us on the other side of the sand dunes. And what a sight it was! The largest group of naturists we have ever encountered in unity and harmony together on a beach. In the distance were brightly, colored beach umbrellas and tents, a cricket match in full swing and a group of people simply enjoying a glorious sunny day in their natural states.
Congratulations to Melton Creevey for all the organization that went in to the planning to make such a day possible and everyone who participated to make what turned out to be a you beaut, awesome way to commemorate Anzac Day, a day, that is now firmly set in the minds and hearts of so many Australians, a day that should be remembered and celebrated with getting together and doing something memorable, just as 100 or so nudist did on Belongil Beach this year.
